The Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) took center stage at the 2025 Political Dialogue Festival (PDF), held at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, from March 5th to 8th. Themed “Building a Collaborative Democracy for Kenya’s Sustainable Future,” the event brought together political leaders, youth, and civil society to discuss governance, transparency, and democratic participation.

One of the Key moments of the festival was the address by Secretary General and Party Spokesperson Sen. Shakila Abdalla, who reaffirmed the party’s commitment to democratic governance and youth participation.

In her speech, Sen. Abdalla emphasized that democracy thrives when citizens engage beyond the ballot box. She noted that youth-led movements are reshaping Kenya’s political landscape, proving that protests can be peaceful yet impactful. She assured attendees that the Wiper Democratic Movement upholds constitutional supremacy and stands for justice, transparency, and inclusivity in leadership.

Sen. Abdalla called on young people to move beyond protests and take an active role in policymaking, ensuring their voices influence national decisions. Her remarks echoed Article 1.11(i) of the Wiper Democratic Movement Constitution, which commits the party to defending justice and constitutional supremacy for all Kenyans.

As a leading political force in Kenya, the Wiper Party continues to push for reforms that promote good governance and civic engagement. Sen. Abdalla reiterated that the party remains a platform for young leaders and progressive policies that foster national unity and sustainable development.
