On 4th April, 2024 the Agikuyu council of elders hosted the Akamba council of elders accompanied by Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.

The meeting agreed to actualised Akamba to be part of GEMA community thus Gikuyu, Embu, Meru and Akamba.

Speaking during his inauguration as a Gikuyu elder, WDM party leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka said as a result of the Akamba being incorporated in the community, the four united  communities must live up to the expectations of liberating Kenyans by joining other communities

“To succeed in this, we must be united and strong with an ideology guaranteeing the correct leadership to the people with a consistent and accurate political line for the  future of our generation”,
